In November 2008, the International Environment Institute hosted the final meeting of the WADI project. WADI is a three-year research project funded by the European Union, focusing on the sustainable use of freshwater across the Mediterranean basin, with a view to ensuring adequate environmental quality and to providing socio-economic benefits for local stakeholders. The project final meeting brought together over fifty delegates representing the eleven project partners from seven countries who have conducted research within the ambit of the project over the past three years. The meeting was also attended by external experts who provided advisory inputs throughout the project, as well as by representatives of the European Union. The final meeting served as a forum for discussion of research results and conclusions, and for the development of plans for dissemination and effective use of knowledge derived from the project.

Abstracts of research presented at the WADI meeting are available here.
