The Institute for Physical Education and Sport, in collaboration with Sportmalta, are once again launching the Foundations of Coaching Course. This course is offered either as a full course over one full semester or covered in parts (short courses selected up to 2 study units at a time). Lectures are held between October 2019 and March 2020 at the Institute, while some of the lectures are delivered online.

All those interested in pursuing a sport coaching career, learning about coaching pedagogy and the science of sport are invited to apply. This course has been successfully running for the last ten years and has attracted a variety of coaches, athletes, administrators across a number of different disciplines. This varied range of expertise gives this course quality. The Foundations of Coaching course focuses on coaching pedagogy (how to coach) and covers in depth a number of areas such as communicating with athletes, session and season planning,management, the various roles of the coach and other related topics.
