Students should register for the conference through the registration page.

Limited funding will be available for a number of students and young reseachers, which will include:

  • Air Travel (up to €300)
  • Exemption from Registration Fee
  • Accommodation (€40 per day for max 5 nights = €200) 
  • Local expenses (€20 per day for max 5 days = €100)

Students will first pay for all expenses (registration fee excluded) and after the conference they will be reimbursed. For the reimbursement, they will have to present copy of the flight ticket and the boarding cards. Further instructions will be provided after the selection procedure.

First collection date of applications: 31 January 2012. [Closed]

Second collection date of applications: 24 February 2012. [Closed]


After registering on the registration page candidates wishing to apply for funding should send an e-mail to including:

  • Full name of student
  • Home Institution
  • Supporting Letter from a senior scientist (preferably from a supervisor)
  • Title and abstract of a poster (mandatory for funding)
Arrangements are being made to keep the cost as low as possible for unsuccessful candidates.

The Institute of Space Science and Astronomy (ISSA), in collaboration with the University of Malta’s Department of Physics and the Faculty of Information and Communications Technology, announces that the University of Malta has been awarded the title of 'CUDA Research Center' by NVIDIA.
