IT Services Training Courses (Nov-Dec 2019)

IT Services is organising the following Turnitin workshops during this semester. The training session is held at IT Services (Campus Map - Location 34).
Only University students may register for the Turnitin training workshops organised by IT Services.

The SPSS courses will be held at the Maths and Physics building (Campus Map: Location No. 29) in Lab MP606 between 1700hrs and 1900hrs as indicated.
Only staff and University students may apply for the IBM SPSS Courses.

Audio Visual Training Sessions

IT Services Learning Spaces Technology Support Team is organising drop-in sessions (30mins) for new academics or those who need a refresher, on the use of the AV technologies in the following learning spaces:


The underlying sessions will start with a brief demonstration followed by a discussion on good practices of using the AV technologies. There will also be time for attendees to test these technologies.

IT Services Orientation Tours (Oct 2019)

The next Orientation Tour is scheduled on:
  • Thursday 3rd October 2019 at 5:30pm
  • Friday 4th October 2019 at 1:00pm
  • Wednesday 9th October 2019 at 1:00pm
  • Friday 11th October 2019 at 1:00pm

At the start of each semester, University of Malta students are invited to attend a 1 hour guided tour of the IT Services building. The tour also includes an overview of different IT facilities and services offered by IT Services. There are no fees involved.

Students are invited to register online to join for an orientation tour. New students must activate their UM IT Account in order to access the online registration system.

If a student is unable to attend the tour that s/he has registered for, IT Services kindly asks that the student cancels his/her booking online. Cancellation enables the student to register for another orientation tour.

Note that:

  • Online registrations and cancellations can be made up to 30 minutes before the commencement of an orientation tour.
  • IT Services also offers the possibility of organising orientation tours for study-unit groups upon request.



Recruitment of Computer Lab Attendants

IT Services will be recruiting University students to assist in the supervision of computing facilities on campus during academic year 2019/20.

  • Positions are open to all University students except those in their first year of studies.
  • Preference will be given to applicants in possession of ECDL Advanced certifications. Other qualifications related to computing and experience on Mac OS will be considered an asset.
  • The payment rate is €4.40 per hour. A student can work up to a maximum of 8 hours per week. The posts are available during academic year 2019/2020.
  • Applications should be received by Friday 20th September 2019.
