Scheduled maintenance on telephony service

Please note that IT Services will be performing maintenance on the telephone system on Sunday 1 March between 09:00 - 15:00. Telephony may be unavailable or inconsistent during the maintenance window.

IT Services Semester 2 SPSS courses

The SPSS courses will be held at the Maths and Physics building (Campus Map: Location No. 29) in Lab MP606 between 1700hrs and 1900hrs as indicated.
Only members of staff and University students may register for the below SPSS courses organised by IT Services.

IT Services Orientation Tours (Feb 2020)

The next Orientation Tour is scheduled on:
  • Friday 7th February 2020 at 12:00pm

At the start of each semester, University of Malta students are invited to attend a 1 hour guided tour of the IT Services building. The tour also includes an overview of different IT facilities and services offered by IT Services. There are no fees involved.

Students are invited to register online to join for an orientation tour. New students must activate their UM IT Account in order to access the online registration system.

If a student is unable to attend the tour that s/he has registered for, IT Services kindly asks that the student cancels his/her booking online. Cancellation enables the student to register for another orientation tour.

Note that:

  • Online registrations and cancellations can be made up to 30 minutes before the commencement of an orientation tour.
  • IT Services also offers the possibility of organising orientation tours for study-unit groups upon request.

VLE weekly maintenance

Kindly note that starting from Semester 2, the VLE should be considered unavailable every Wednesday between 07:00 - 07:45, as this is the window for scheduled maintenance. Please avoid planning activities or submitting assignments during this time.

Email Scam Alert

IT Services is receiving reports that users received the underlying email scam claiming that their email account has been temporarily disabled. The email directs the recipients to follow a link that takes them to a non-UM website.

If you have received the Scam Email below, please ignore it. 

Subject: You Have {1} New Important Message

Dear L-Università ta' Malta Email Account Users

Your email account has been temporarily disabled by the System Mail Administrator due to some unusual activities in your email account as some information has not been verified, to activate your account click on the below link

CLICK HERE (Where a fake link would be provided)

You may find this message in your Junk folder due to the unusual activities, kindly move to your inbox and click on the above link.Failure to do this will lead to total lock down of your email account and your email will be deleted from the mail server, Do not ignore this notification. Treat very urgently
