Turnitin Scheduled Maintenance

iParadigms informed IT Services that the Turnitin service may be unavailable on Saturday 4th January 2014 due to scheduled maintenance.

More Wireless Hotspots

IT Services is pleased to announce the availability of wireless access at the Faculty of ICT Building, Rural Sciences Farmhouse (Agriculture) and the Institute of Digital Games.

Shutdown of 'old' CPA on 9th December 2013

As part of the VLE Upgrade Project, the CPA 2 VLE (based on Moodle 2) has been available for use by all staff since 28th January 2013. The 'old' CPA VLE (based on Moodle 1.9) was shut down on the 9th December 2013 and will no longer be accessible.

Two-Factor Authentication for Staff

All staff are required to set up Two-Factor Authentication by 5 February 2014.

IT Services has launched Two-Factor Authentication (TFA) for all students and staff. TFA adds an extra layer of protection to the UM IT Account.

Staff can set up their TFA as follows:

  1. Visit any University of Malta web page
  2. Click Quicklinks (top-right)
  3. Click Set up Two-Factor Authentication (Staff)
  4. Follow the instructions indicated on the screen.

Staff are encouraged to direct any queries regarding the setting up of TFA to one of the IT Services Helpdesks. Please note that the Helpdesk at the IT Services Building (Msida Campus) is open until 1830hrs (Mon-Fri).

Scheduled Maintenance

IT Services will be performing network maintenance next Tuesday 29 October between 0600hrs and 0700hrs. During this time, all network services including IP phones and web services will be unavailable.
