AIMS Scheduled Maintenance

08 Mar 2017

IT Services and AIMS Office will be carrying out maintenance work on AIMS on Monday 13 March 2017 from 1715hrs onwards. The system should be back in operation on Tuesday 14 March 2017. Please ensure that you log out of AIMS before the maintenance work has started.

Whilst we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, we will do our best to complete our work in the least time possible.

SIMS & eSIMS Scheduled Maintenance

IT Services and SIMS Office will be performing maintenance on the University of Malta SIMS and eSIMS. Both SIMS and eSIMS will be unavailable on the following (3) days:
  • Tuesday 7 March
  • Wednesday 8 March
  • Thursday 9 March
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we will endeavour to complete works as soon as possible.

Only University staff and students may register for training courses/workshops organised by IT Services.

Recruitment of Computer Lab Attendants

IT Services will be recruiting University students to assist in the supervision of computing facilities on campus during academic year 2016/17.

  • Positions are open to all University students except those in their first year of studies.

  • Preference will be given to applicants in possession of ECDL Advanced certifications. Other qualifications related to computing and experience on Mac OS will be considered an asset.

  • The payment rate is €4.20 per hour. A student can work up to a maximum of 8 hours per week. The posts are available during academic year 2016/2017.

  • Applications should be received by Monday 23rd January 2017.

IT Services Orientation Tours (Feb 2017)

At the start of each semester, University of Malta students are invited to attend a 1 hour guided tour of the IT Services building. The tour also includes an overview of different IT facilities and services offered by IT Services. There are no fees involved.

Students are invited to register online to join for an orientation tour. New students must activate their UM IT Account in order to access the online registration system.

If a student is unable to attend the tour that s/he has registered for, IT Services kindly asks that the student cancels his/her booking online. Cancellation enables the student to register for another orientation tour.

Note that:

  • Online registrations and cancellations can be made up to 30 minutes before the commencement of an orientation tour.
  • IT Services also offers the possibility of organising orientation tours for study-unit groups upon request.
