MATLAB

MATLAB is used for a range of applications, including deep learning and machine learning, signal processing and communications, image and video processing, control systems, test and measurement, computational finance, and computational biology.

The University has a campus-wide licence for MATLAB and all the toolboxes. The licence covers use of MATLAB for academic purposes. The software is available for University staff and students.

The system requirements can be found on the MathWorks site.

Individual use - To be used on your own device.
Classroom/Lab use - To be used by multiple users on the same computer.

If the Licence you are using has been renewed, you will need to update your licence file by following the instructions below:

  • Open MATLAB (If the licence has already expired the activation client will launch and you can skip the next step).
  • Navigate to Help Menu and select Licensing.
  • Click on Activate Software.
  • Choose Activate using Internet.
  • Once reactivated you will need to restart MATLAB before the new licence file is recognized.
