IT Services maintains open access learning spaces equipped with computer workstations at various University of Malta locations. Access to these facilities is available to all students and staff with a UM IT Account.
IT Services (Campus Map - Location 34) houses the following open access areas:
Open Access Hall 001 (Level 0)
Open Access Room 002 (Level 0)
Training Room/Open Access Room 104 (Level 1)
Opening hours
IT Services is open Monday to Friday:
Winter hours (1 Oct - 15 Jun) - 08:00 - 20:00
Summer hours (16 Jun - 30 Sep) - 08:00 - 13:00
Note that:
In addition to desks for single use, Hall 001 and Room 002 have designated areas for groupwork. In Hall 001 there are some large screens to facilitate group work.
Training Room/Open Access Room 104 is a silent working area.
After 16:00, Training Room/Open Access Room 104 may be closed for users due to lecture sessions. Accordingly users are advised to look for vacant workstations at other open access learning spaces and labs.
The University Main Library (Campus Map - Location 24) has open access workstations in these areas:
Level 1 - Reference Section
Level 2 - Learning & Study Environment
Level 3 - Reading Areas

The open-access workstations are available during the Main Library opening hours.
Note that:
Level 2 offers flexible study spaces for group and individual work.
Laser printing facilities are available at each level. Level 2 is equipped with colour laser printing facilities.
Scanning facilities are available.
The Faculty for the Built Environment houses a computer lab at the Built Environment Building (Campus Map - Location 10).

This computer lab is open Monday to Friday:
Winter hours (1 Oct - 31 May) - 09:00 - 16:00
Summer hours (1 Jun - 30 Sep) - Closed
Users are advised to look for vacant workstations at other open access learning spaces and labs during other hours.
Note that:
In addition to the standard software, the workstations in this lab have AutoDesk Architectural Desktop and SketchUp Pro.
B&W and colour printing facilities are available. The printer supports both A4 & A3 printing. Wide format printing is also available.
Scanning facilities are available.
The Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy (FEMA) computer lab is located at the FEMA Building Rm 222. (Campus Map - Location 15)

This open access lab is primarily aimed at users making use of their own devices (Bring Your Own Device). A limited number of open access workstations are also available.
The Institute for Physical Education & Sport computer lab is located at Room 212, Institute for Physical Education & Sport. (Campus Map - Location 64)

Summer hours (16 Jun - 30 Sep) - 08:00 - 13:00
