Zoom is a cloud-based video conferencing service that you can use for live interactive teaching, online meetings, and webinars. Meeting participants are able to ask questions and interact during the session. You can also share your presentation or screen, use breakout rooms, and record your sessions.
Please note that any Zoom meetings created with a UM Zoom account have a join meeting link address that contains the words ‘universityofmalta’. May we remind you that the use of the University of Malta Zoom education licence is strictly for University use and not for any commercial purpose.
All staff and students are required to first activate their Zoom account, and should ensure that they are signed in with the UM account (via SSO) [PDF] to the Zoom client [PDF] to gain access to additional features and for more secure use of Zoom.
Staff who would like to host a webinar for a special event such as a conference or a seminar need to apply for a Zoom webinar licence.
