Ilwien Child Care Centre

Ilwien Child Care Centre

Ilwien Childcare Centre opened its doors on 21 October 2013 in order to make it easier for parents and guardians of pre-school children to study or work at the Junior College and to serve as a centre for research in Child Development & Early Childhood Education. Today, the general public may also avail itself of this service.

At Ilwien children can join at the age of 12 months and stay till they are 3 years old. The pre-school classroom set-up, where structured play is the predominant factor, reflects the belief that children learn best in a stimulating yet ordered environment. Hence, the school is an open plan and divided into well-defined areas including role play, messy area, construction area, music and dance, amongst others. The centre also includes provision for nappy changing and a rest area for children attending for more than five hours. Outdoor activities held in the facility's outdoor play area provides the necessary balance complementing the activities held indoors.
