Abstract: | THE TOWN of Cospicua (Bormla) has a long standing affiliation with the sea. The sea has given this city its past cultural glory and its fading social wealth. The periods of belligerency in the Mediterranean in the 19th and 20th century were a godsend to many people living in the Cottonera area as they increased the British Naval activity and this in tum, created jobs which guaranteed revenue to many of the family breadwinners through contractual employment |
