A criticism and reappraisal of biomedical principles through the phenomenology of the physician-patient relationship

Abstract

In summary, I propose to study the phenomena of the doctor-patient relationship and understand which principles conform to these phenomena and which are manifestations, outcomes, of a priori phenomena. This will help ground principles in the ontology of the doctor-patient relationship and henceforth understand how moral problems can be resolved in this context. Indeed it is concluded that principles should only be viewed through this grounding if the telos of medicine is to be respected
