Abstract: Published as part of the Lifestyle & Culture segment, the article discusses the inception of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel figure from its design, engineering, construction, in Naples-Italy, before crossing over to Maltese shores. Referring to the historical notary archives of Francesco Bovio, it describes the agreements and negotiations made between the Carmelite Fraternity in Valletta and other contractors before its first procession in Balluta 1896.
