Abstract: | During World War II, a painting and a statue representing the Virgin Mary were transported from Cospicua parish church to Birkirkara for safe-keeping. At the end of the war, both the painting and the statue of the Immaculate Conception were returned to the Senglea Collegiate Church during a national pilgrimage that included the participation of 16 band clubs. |
