of Council·, complaining of the loss of a motion made by one of them, Mr.&#xD;
Cachia Zammit, for leave to introduce an Ordinance "for the organisation of&#xD;
public instruction," and stating that that event was due to my having made use,&#xD;

    <summary type="text">Title: Memorandum on the water supply in Malta and Gozo and the breakwater in the latter island
Abstract: The subject of the water supply in Malta and Gozo, as repeatedly engaged&#xD;
the attention of the Government, and, at times, very earnestly and effectually.&#xD;
In the former island, between 1840 and 1846, the sources of the Wignacourt&#xD;
Aqueduct were improved, and the Fawra Aqueduct, fed from other sources,&#xD;
was constructed; between 1863 and 1869, the sources of the first mentioned&#xD;
aqueduct were· again materially added to, and the aqueduct for the conveyance&#xD;
of water from fresh sources, Ta L'Armier, San Sebastiano, and La Vittoria, in&#xD;
the valley of casal Curmi, was built; and between 1858 and 1874 a great number&#xD;
of tanks were formed, partly for collecting surface water in localities not&#xD;
reached by any of the existing aqueducts, and partly for storing water fro;n&#xD;
those aqueducts, in abundant years. And at Gozo, in 1840-43, an aqueduct was&#xD;
constructed carrying water to Rabato from Ghain Abdul and Ghar Elma ; and&#xD;
between 1860 and 1874, several tanks were also formed in different places... Excerpt]</summary>
