Abstract: IT would be worth the trouble of a long&#xD;
and painful pilgrimage to fall in, at length,&#xD;
with a family in which the present tense&#xD;
of the indicative mood of a certain verb&#xD;
active, were in daily, full, and practical&#xD;
operation. Thus :-&#xD;
' I love. Thou lovest. He and she loves.&#xD;
We love. Ye love. They love.'&#xD;
This, however, might be too much to&#xD;
expect ; but some considerable advances&#xD;
towards such a state of things may surely&#xD;
be hoped for where a right direction is&#xD;
given to the best instincts of humanity.&#xD;
Plainly, if the moral training of children&#xD;
must begin with the subjection of the will,&#xD;
it should be accompanied, step by step,&#xD;
with the education, literally the leading&#xD;
