Title: Conference Report Abstract: The Role of Regional and Sub-Regional Organisations in International Peacekeeping was the selected theme of the Third Annual Meeting of the International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres. The meeting, which was organised by the Peace and Conflict Studies Programme of the Institute of International Affairs, Foundation for International Studies, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malta and the Armed Forces of Malta, was held on the premise that the changing context of peacekeeping operations must be catered for at training level. Training centres were part of the general debate on the development of international peacekeeping, with its new emphasis on regional organisations. The meeting was divided into two workshops.

La Cour de Strasbourg et la realisation d'une "Union plus parfaite" by Paul Tavernier Authors: Biad, Abdelwahab Abstract: What type of Europe for Human Rights? is a compilation of papers presented and discussions held during the conference carrying the same title, which took place at Rouen on 12 - 13 May 1995. The conference was organised by the Centre for Research and Studies on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (CREDHO) of the Faculty of Law at the University of Rouen. The book, which has contributions of human rights practitioners (in particular judges at the European Court of Human Rights) and scholars, provides the readers with an in-depth analysis of the various legal aspects (problems and remedies) of the European Convention on Human Rights. The principal concern in this examination of the European Convention is the evolving institutional architecture, mostly with the European Court of Human Rights as the dominant institution, and the manner in which it has performed the judicial function.
