Title: Some Qur'anic exegesis : Prophet Solomon & the Jinn Abstract: The only prophet, besides Muhammad, about whom the Qur'an declares that he had some kind of communication with the jinn, was Solomon: "And his hosts were mustered to Solomon, jinn, men and birds; duly disposed. . ." (Q. 27,17). Solomon had dominion over them and they rendered him servitude by God's order: " ... And of the jinn, some worked before him by the leave of his Lord; and such of them as swerved away from Our commandment, We would let them taste the chastisement of the Blaze" (Q. 34,12).
