    <summary type="text">Title: A profile of the Maltese investor : determining the factors contributing to the risk appetite and decision-making of the Maltese investor
Abstract: Through the testing of a number of propositions, the researcher analysed both the financial and behavioural aspects of the Maltese individual investor trading on the Malta Stock Exchange, shedding light onto the major characteristics of the local financial investor together with those variables that were found to affect the investor’s trading decisions. Key areas explored include investor’s expectations, returns from investment, risk and loss aversions, disposition effect, financial literacy, and overconfidence. The study also analyses the influence of financial advisors on the investor’s risk appetite.&#xD;
&#xD;
&#xD;
&#xD;
The researcher used statistical data consisting of 370 valid responses obtained from a self-reporting questionnaire directed to active Maltese investors. Moreover, the researcher also adopted a thematic approach to analyse semi-structured interviews and commentaries from 29 financial advisors operating in different localities around Malta and Gozo.&#xD;
&#xD;
&#xD;
&#xD;
Findings reveal that the Maltese investor is a confident investor who has high expectations but is flexible enough to adapt to the current market scenario and obtain satisfactory returns. Findings indicate that lower MGS rates have encouraged the local investor to seek alternative investments whilst positive past experiences together with insufficient information on issuing companies have led local investors to take risks beyond their risk appetite. Depending on the advisor’s own appetite, and on the strategies s/he adopts, financial advice promotes investors’ financial maturity and/or contributes to increase investors’ biases.

    <summary type="text">Title: Insurance and risk mitigation for Maltese youth football nurseries
Abstract: The key objective of this study is to gather a better understanding of the current protection offered to youth teams mainly through the use of insurance within Malta focusing mainly on football. The literature focuses mainly on the main benefits youth clubs offer and hazards that and must manage. A SWOT analysis evaluating the main advantages and disadvantages is conducted from the interviews and responses collected. Furthermore, other measures other than insurance are identified.&#xD;
&#xD;
In order to obtain results, the major participants were consulted. This included the Maltese Youth F.A, Melita Unipol Brokers, clubs registered with the Youth F.A and coaches. Their opinions and ideas were evaluated in order to investigate the current situation in Malta and to form conclusions and recommendations.&#xD;
&#xD;
The study disclosed that insurance is considered as one of the main methods of risk transfer, however other methods such as first aid and education are also important. Moreover, the research demonstrated that only the Youth football association offers an insurance policy to its members compared with other sports. It was concluded that the insurance policy offered is an important step in enhancing and adding protection to youth clubs, however more work must be done in order to improve the protection offered to youth teams.

    <summary type="text">Title: The demand for private health insurance in Malta : a comparison with other European Union member states
Abstract: Private health insurance is present within every European Union member state, together with publicly financed health insurance, however, there is a huge difference between the role played by the publicly financed health care system and the private health insurance system, which are analysed within this study. It is also tough to imagine having a private health insurance market without the publicly financed health care system.&#xD;
In Malta, the private health insurance market does not strive and plays a rather modest role. many people rely on the publicly funded health care, however, with the ever-increasing population on the Maltese islands, this can prove to be a heavy burden since resources and facilities are limited in the public health care system. This research study therefore provides an overview and analysis of the possible reasons for this occurrence.&#xD;
For the purpose of this study, interviews were conducted with three different individuals representing three different insurance companies locally. The data was then analysed by finding the common arguments that were discussed during the interviews.

    <summary type="text">Title: A study on drone insurance and its future potential in Malta
Abstract: This study analyses the current demand and viability of drone insurance in Malta. Drones are used for several purposes, some of which include photography, videography, inspections on construction sites and agricultural monitoring. Although drones are introducing many new job opportunities worldwide, one must also consider the insurance-related liabilities drones bring about with them.&#xD;
&#xD;
The research was carried out using online questionnaires directed towards drone owners in Malta and interviews aimed at local insurance company representatives. The general findings result that drone owners agreed that drones bring about insurance-related liabilities and hence are willing to buy drone insurance, however this would depend on the annual premium charged. Representatives of local insurance companies emphasised that drone insurance in Malta is still not viable due to the small number of drone users in Malta. Selling drone insurance would result in high premiums reflecting the high risks being insured, which might not be affordable to drone owners.
