    <summary type="text">Title: The Virgin Mary in the Qur’an
Abstract: Contemporary interest in Islam and the Qur'an, its sacred book, runs high. Qur'an means literally a book, a reading, a recitation; and is sometimes less accurately transliterated from Arabic to English as Koran. &#xD;
&#xD;
Among the queries raised concerning the Qur'an is the place Mary the Mother of Jesus occupies in Islam. For the past two millennia people have given many faces to Mary. Some of the most impressive images of her are found in the Qur'an. And ample evidence exists to indicate that the sources of the Marian references in the Qur'an are found in early Judaic and Christian traditions.</summary>

Abstract: Two new MAs in Christian Spirituality have recently been launched at the&#xD;
University of Malta. The second European conference on spirituality as an&#xD;
academic discipline will be held at St. Mary's University College, London from&#xD;
June 30th to July 3rd, 2009. These two events are part of a new phenomenon,&#xD;
the emergence and development of Christian spirituality as a distinct academic&#xD;
discipline. This article will articulate some of that development.</summary>

Abstract: I became aware of an exegesis problem in this verse when the Gideons International Malta Branch asked the Malta Bible Society, the publisher and the guardian of the text, to insert a small change in their version of the Bible. In the Third Edition of the text (2004; which remained the same from its First edition (1984), the text of Phil 1,29 reads: &#xD;
&#xD;
"Ghaliex lilkom inghatat il-grazzja li sservu lil Kristu, mhux biss temmnu fih, imma sahansitra li tbatu ghalih."&#xD;
&#xD;
For the Gideons the problem lies with the verbal clause li sservu lil Kristu 'that you serve Christ' which they say is not found in Saydon and in the English versions. Rev. Prof Peter Paul Saydon had translated the text as follows: &#xD;
&#xD;
"Ghax hija grazzja moghtija lilkom ghal Kristu, mhux biss li temmnu fih, imma wkoll li tbatu ghalih"</summary>
