Abstract: In this interview, Parliamentary Secretary Dr. Michael Frendo discusses the newly published White Paper "Rights for the Consumer" and the radical legislative changes proposed to redress the balance of power between traders and consumers in Malta. Key proposals highlighted include shifting the burden of proof for defective goods to the seller, establishing a national Consumer Protection Council, extending the legal timeframe to claim for latent defects from one month to six, and introducing a small claims court to resolve disputes under Lm250 efficiently.</summary>
