    <summary type="text">Title: Queen Victoria revenue stamps
Abstract: The first Malta stamps to have the word Revenue printed on them were the Queen Victoria definitive issue of 1885. In Malta, Revenue and Fiscally cancelled stamps were always discarded and destroyed by Maltese Philatelists. They were looked down upon, not to be collected, and destroyed; A fiscally used stamp in a collection made ones eyebrow turn up. This outlook still by and large exists. [excerpt]</summary>

Abstract: The Malta Study Hand Book (page 105) says: 'It would appear that copies&#xD;
of this stamp were bisected and used as 1/2d ones by favour and were cancelled at&#xD;
the Mellieha Branch Office. On the covers, there are no date stamps other than&#xD;
the Mellieha circular date stamp of 24 May 02.' [excerpt]</summary>
