Abstract: This series builds up into an encyclopaedia of Maltese culture presented by Pubblikazzjonijiet Indipendenza to the nation, a monumental task that involves the best 20th century authors, scholars, and professionals – all experts in their field, all of them contributing towards a comprehensive definition of the national identity. PIN’s is actively engaged in defining traditions and achievements, and describing the social and historical environment of the Maltese nation. It is a useful task in the light of the European Union that will eventually grow into a store of local culture, an encyclopaedia that future generations will definitely appreciate.The 72 volumes of the Kullana Kulturali were published over a period of six years, with three volumes every three months.
