Title: Measuring technical efficiency of health centers in Greece : a data envelopment analysis application for the primary health system of Greece
Authors: Anastasios, Trakakis; Miltiadis, Nektarios; Styliani, Tziaferi; Panagiotis, Prezerakos
Abstract: PURPOSE: In this paper Data Envelopment Analysis will be applied to investigate the technical
efficiency of 196 Heath Centers in Greece. The analysis is referred at their efficiency in the
year 2018.; DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: Data were collected by the Ministry of Health and were
analyzed by performing quality tests to ensure validity and avoid bias. The method used is the
non-parametric Data Envelopment Analysis and more specifically the input-oriented, onestage VRS model. Tobit regression analysis was performed to analyze the effect of the Health
Region in the efficiency of the Health Centers.; FINDINGS: The results of the paper indicate the efficient Health Centers in Greece, which
construct the efficient frontier. The inefficient Health Centers in Greece lie beneath the
efficient frontier. Moreover, the 196 Health Centers included in the research were classified
depending on the Health Region they belong to, to investigate the effect of the Health Regions
in the efficiency measured.; PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: This study highlights the importance of measuring the efficiency of
Primary Health Care. Taking into consideration the contribution of Health Centers to the
National Health System, the results may be used as a guide for improvements for the
efficiency of the Health Centers.; ORIGINALITY/VALUE: The research focus on the underestimated field of Primary Health Care
and its importance. The application of Data Envelopment Analysis combined with the Tobit
Regression Model reveals a new approach for measuring the efficiency.

Title: Understanding employment aspirations of future tourism and hospitality workforce : the critical role of cultural participation and study engagement
Authors: Grobelna, Aleksandra; Wyszkowska-Wróbel, Ewa M.
Abstract: PURPOSE: The aim of the study was to identify selected antecedents of Tourism and
Hospitality (T&H) students’ participation in culture and to investigate its impact on the
youth’s involvement in their studies and their future employment aspirations in T&H.; DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: The questionnaire was used to collect data from T&H
students from a Higher Educational Institution of Northern Poland. The relationships
between study constructs were tested using the structural equation modeling.; FINDINGS: The main results showed that T&H students high in culture participation are also
much more engaged in their studies, which is reflected by their deeper absorption and
dedication towards them. However, only students’ dedication exerted a significant and
positive impact on their employment aspiration in T&H after graduation.; PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: This study provides several actions that are recommended to
encourage students to participate in culture, develop their cultural competences, and
facilitate academic youth’s access to culture. These activities such as introducing a
permanent offer for students at preferential prices, developing and implementing mobile
applications informing about discounts on cultural events and others interesting solutions
are provided in this study and could be undertaken both by universities and by other
organizations (the state, cultural institutions, private entrepreneurs).; ORIGINALITY/VALUE: To the best of Authors’ knowledge, there are no empirical studies that
distinctively measure the effects of culture participation on students’ engagement and their
employment aspirations in T&H.

Title: Empirical verification of relationship between organizational boundaries, business model change and outsourcing scope and maturity
Authors: Drzewiecki, Jakub
Abstract: PURPOSE: The goal of the paper is to present the research results on empirical verification
of a model of relationships between, the premises of organizational boundaries change,
outsourcing`s scope and maturity, outsourcing`s effectiveness and the level of business
model modification.; DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: The research sample was purposive and included 281
Polish companies. The main research tool was a survey questionnaire, supported by the
CATI technique. To verify the model, the Structural Equations Modelling (SEM) method
was used. The research was based on the Business Model Canvas framework, as well as
author`s concept of outsourcing maturity characteristics.; FINDINGS: The results confirmed the existence of relationships between all the phenomena
included within the research model, the only exception being the impact of outsourcing
scope on its effectiveness. Specifically, the research proved the impact of outsourcing
effectiveness on the level of business model changes in surveyed enterprises, as well as a
strong relationship between outsourcing maturity and its effectiveness. The research
enabled to identify outsourcing not only as a tool of organizational boundaries change, but
also as one of the key methods of business model adaptation and alteration.; PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: The research indicates the need for extending the field of analysing
outsourcing`s impact on the shape of the business model to adjust the scope and the
outsourcing process to changes taking place in the enterprise, as well as its environment.; ORIGINALITY/VALUE: The research can be used to develop future research directions, such as
a more detailed explanation of the way outsourcing impacts the process of business model
innovation.

Title: The opportunities and challenges of combined use of futures commodity exchange and public warehouse in the crop sector of Vietnam
Authors: Kozár, László; Vasa, László; Neszmélyi, György Iván
Abstract: PURPOSE: This study suggests introducing two new institutions in Vietnam, the Public
Warehouse, and the Commodity Exchange. Based on these institutes, recommends three
commodity-financing methods for financing agricultural commodities, the classical public
warehousing-based Lombard financing, the combined version of this with commodity
exchange futures and a special ‘Trading House’ based commodity financing.; DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: The study is based on nine-year-long history of connection
building, lecturing and examinations of Vietnamese and international sources, furthermore,
based on primary research in acquiring direct information from several academic and nonacademic experts and prestigious market participants on the examined market.; FINDINGS: In the case study the authors examined and presented the reflects to an efficient
pattern that can be applied for other sectors and adopted by other developing countries. The
establishment of an integrated financing model in vertical integration / supply systems can
generate a win-win type of co-operation for all the stakeholders.; PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: The combined use the functions of these institutions could help grain
market participants, such as producers, manufactures, traders, and financiers for convenient
business decisions, price, and credit risk management, and able to involve extra financing
resources to the Vietnamese agriculture in a great extent. Beyond market participants
advantages, these solutions can help to reach market regulation and stockpiling strategy
goals for Vietnamese Government.; ORIGINALITY/VALUE: The proposed techniques offer relatively new solutions but could
contribute to the further development of these fields while these methods can eventually be
used in other sectors of the Vietnamese economy as well.
