It was named after its founder and governor during that time, General Leslie Rundle. It has been upgraded several times during these hundred years and now features over 100 different species of trees, both native (e.g. Holm oak, Dwarf Palm tree, Sundarac Gum tree) and exotic (e.g. Jacaranda, Hibiscus, Kurrajong and Norfolk pine trees), as well a large array of seasonal flowering plants.
