Abstract: After we have attempted to understand the right context of Agape in St. Paul, we now examine briefly the main interpretations given to the word under study. E.B. ALLO'S interpretation of Agape is given mainly in the introduction to Olapter XIII in his 'Premier Epitre aux Corinthiens'. He starts by saying that Paul finds himself seized and captivated by the same Spirit which the Apostle has been speaking about. Paul's soul 's'epancheen une sorte de poeme d'hymne, de psaume, qui est la meilleure exemple qu'il nous ait donne pour comprendre la nature du logos sophias, le discours de sagesse. C'est la plus belle page de l'oeuvre apostolique, avec Rom. VIII, 31ss'.</description>

Abstract: I sedici documenti promulgati dal Concilio Vaticano IT hanno denominazioni differenti, secondo il rispetti vo scopo. Alcuni si chiamano 'Costituzioni dommatiche', perche tendono ad insegnare verita generalmente di fede; altri sono denominati Decreti, perche danno norme di disciplina; altri portano il nome di Dichiarazioni, perche semplicemente espongono un modo di pensare; altri in fine sono Costituzioni pastorali, perche tendono a rendere piu facile l' a vvicinamento delle anie a Dio. Tra questi ultimi documenti vi e la Costituzione sulla Chiesa nel Mondo contemporaneo, Gaudium et Spes.</description>

Abstract: From the reports, insofar as philosophy was concerned, the two points of view expressed appeared to conflict as to whether there should be more or less Thomism in the course. But, as Father Congar remarked in his Council diary, the issue should not be seen in terms of more or less, but of a different use of St. Thomas: if what is understood by Thomism is an apparatus of abstract questions and prefabricated solutions, then there should not only be less, but nothing of it; if, on the other hand, one understands by it faithfulness to the type of philosopher St. Thomas was, then one should be a Thomist completely. The final text of the Council avoids raising the false issue which dogged the debate in the Hall, but it is to the question of 'how to be a Thomist' that section on the content (couched in rather shadowy terms) is an attempt at providing an answer. It is, therefore, worth trying to establish a little more clarity in the matter.</description>
