Creativity control as a core component of the creativity management process

Title: Creativity control as a core component of the creativity management process
Authors: Łabuz, Artur
Abstract: PURPOSE: To examine the role of creativity control in organisations and to identify how
creative-sector enterprises monitor and evaluate the development of employee creativity.; DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: The study uses a quantitative CAWI survey conducted among
125 employees and managers from creative-sector organisations in the West Pomeranian
region. A purposive sampling strategy based on PKD 2007 ensured the inclusion of relevant
enterprises.; FINDINGS: Most organisations do not apply structured creativity-control mechanisms (78%).
Employees associate control mainly with performance evaluation, while managers link it to
project outcomes. Only a minority use any creativity-control practices, and these rely largely
on general HR tools rather than specialised methods.; PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: Introducing systematic creativity-control mechanisms can support the
development of creative competencies, improve monitoring processes and strengthen
organisations’ ability to transform creative potential into innovation.; ORIGINALITY/VALUE: The study provides one of the first empirical insights into creativity-control
practices in the Polish creative sector and supports the development of a structured creativity-management model in which control functions as a diagnostic and developmental component.

Understanding quiet quitting : from demographic variables to organizational drivers

Title: Understanding quiet quitting : from demographic variables to organizational drivers
Authors: Michałkiewicz, Anna
Abstract: PURPOSE: The aim of this article is to examine whether demographic variables such as age,
gender, education, and job tenure determine the occurrence, motives, and forms of quiet
quitting.; DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: The research was conducted with a quantitative CAWI
survey from a sample of 515 participants.; FINDINGS: The findings indicate that demographic variables such as age, gender, education,
and job tenure exert negligible influence on the propensity for quiet quitting, with no
significant effect on the quantity or type of actions undertaken. Although gender partially
differentiates the motives for disengagement, the most frequently reported reasons and
behaviours are consistent across all demographic groups. These results suggest that quiet
quitting is primarily shaped by psychological and organizational factors rather than
demographic characteristics.; PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: The study indicates that demographic factors such as age, gender,
education, and job tenure do not significantly predict quiet quitting behaviours, suggesting
that interventions should focus on organizational and psychological determinants.
Strengthening leadership competencies, ensuring transparent career development
opportunities, and fostering team support appear critical for mitigating disengagement.
Additionally, promoting work-life balance and addressing perceptions of inadequate
remuneration may help organizations reduce the prevalence of quiet quitting.; ORIGINALITY/VALUE: This article provides original empirical evidence on the limited role of
demographic variables in quiet quitting and highlights the predominance of psychological and
organizational factors.

Logistics potential of the subregion in the study of competitiveness of the Słupsk subregion

Title: Logistics potential of the subregion in the study of competitiveness of the Słupsk subregion
Authors: Staniuk, Wiesław; Musiałek, Marcin; Marek, Robert
Abstract: PURPOSE: The objective of this article is to identify and evaluate the logistical resources of the
Słupsk Subregion and the possibilities for improving its competitiveness through the
application of new strategic planning methods.; DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: The research methodology was based on a critical analysis
of the literature and a comparative analysis of various development strategy documents
published by local government units (LGUs) and the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy
(MFiPR). In addition, quantitative and qualitative research methods were used, including
analysis of reports, planning documents, and statistical data.; FINDINGS: The results of the study showed that there are elements of a logistics subsystem in
the Słupsk Subregion that represent potential that could significantly improve its
competitiveness. Based on the analysis of strategic documents in the field of investment
planning at the regional and national levels, there is no synergy in the planning, management,
and implementation of funding streams for activities that are key to exploiting synergies. The
results of the research conducted encourage its continuation in the field of research and
development of research methods that allow for the identification of systemic mismatches and
the determination of their impact on the competitiveness of the subregion. Conducting research
using the PL9A logistics planning method may contribute to improving the effectiveness of the
strategic planning process and creating new synergies on a scale that significantly influences
the prevention of marginalization and exclusion of local government units in the Słupsk
subregion.; PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: The article presents research on strategic planning documents of local
government units forming the subregion of the Pomeranian Province and documents of the
Strategy Department of the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, including reports on the
implementation of the National Regional Development Strategy until 2030. This article
attempts to answer the question of whether the Słupsk subregion has logistics potential that
could form a subsystem of the subregion and to what extent the exploitation of this potential
could improve the competitiveness and development of the subregion. This article identifies
the logistics subsystem of the Słupsk subregion, examines strategic planning documents
covering the national and regional planning levels, and assesses their consistency in terms of ensuring synergies of economies of scale in the use of growth and development potential.; ORIGINALITY/VALUE: Results of the study emphasize the need for further research on logistics
planning issues and the possibilities of its use in creating development plans at the regional
and national levels.

Exploring shadow economy and the risk of poverty in Polish regions

Title: Exploring shadow economy and the risk of poverty in Polish regions
Authors: Buszko, Andrzej
Abstract: PURPOSE: The aim of the research was to indicate the correlation between poverty risk index
and the level of shadow economy in Polish regions. The research was conducted taking into
consideration 2022. MIMIC approach was employed to set up the level of shadow economy,
latent variable was clarified based upon observed factors. Spearman correlation index was
used to find out the relationship between analysed categories. Based on the result 0,684, it
should have been assumed that there is a high positive correlation between the poverty risk
index and the level of the shadow economy in Polish regions.; DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: The consideration formed the basis for the formulation of the
research hypothesis: There is a relationship between the level of shadow economy and risk of
poverty. To verify such a hypothesis, the results of own calculations were used.; FINDINGS: The results of the research showed the existence of significant relationships between
the selected characteristics that determine appropriate attitudes toward unemployment and
the development of the shadow economy.; PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: The obtained research results are of particular importance for the
development of appropriate tools towards the shadow economy. The indication of guidelines
that may change this state of affairs and the developed research allowed us to identify areas
of influence and meet the requirements of regional competitiveness.; ORIGINALITY/VALUE: The obtained research results showed which conditions are most conducive
to predicting shadow economy processes. The results obtained will allow public administration
to focus on these elements in order to achieve better results in combating the sources of the
shadow economy.
