Title: The wine trade of Malta in the eighteenth century
Abstract: Debono provides an in-depth look at the wine trade that the Maltese partook in with Sicilians in the 18th century. At the time existed a rather wasteful system of trade, according to a leading wine merchant by the name of Joanne Baptista Salvaloco- who brought forward a new strategy which provided more benefits for Maltese traders.

Title: John Hookham Frere in Malta (1821-1846) : a link with our social and cultural past
Authors: Cassar, Paul
Abstract: This paper is an attempt to refresh our memories of John Hookham Frere and of a coterie of distinguished and inquisitive men of intellect who called at the Villa and strolled in its gardens and turned them into a meeting place of culture and exchange of ideas; and to recall his associations, however tenuous they may have been, with the medical events of his time.
