It is a common complaint with a broad differential diagnosis but endometrial cancer must be excluded. About 10% of women over 55 years who present with PMB are at risk of gynaecological cancer and should be investigated promptly. This article highlights the importance of timely diagnosis by healthcare professionals to improve the prognosis of patients with malignant aetiologies.
