Il Leopardi e il sentimento dell'infinito

Title: Il Leopardi e il sentimento dell'infinito
Abstract: La ricerca dell'infinito e uno dei
cardini su cui gira la poesia leopardiana.
Sarebbe dunque di particolare
interesse cercare di analizzare questo
motivo nella luce di una esperienza
spirituale, se non nel siginificato
strettamente mistico della parola, nel
senso di un levarsi della mente al
di la del limitate naturale verso un
mondo di puro spirito fuori del tempo
e dello spazio.

Title: A struggle for survival through a year of famine 1647-1648
Abstract: Malta, being a small island with limited natural resources was spared from many a famine thanks to help from larger nations such as Sicily, Spain, France and the city state of Venice. However, in the middle of the 17th century, there was a famine outbreak. The Knights of Malta tried and successfully overcame this famine through negotiating and the diplomatic help of Mgr. Anthony Pignatelli (later, Pope Innocent XII), in his twofold function of Inquisitor and Apostolic Delegate for the Maltese Islands.
