Title: Lingwa nklussiva ibbażata fuq il-ġeneru – linji gwida
Authors: Cutajar, JosAnn
Abstract: Il-lingwa hija prattika soċjali li aħna nużaw bħala mezz ta’ komunikazzjoni. Aħna mingħalina li l-lingwa hija newtrali iżda mhijiex. Meta tibda’ tifliha tibda’ tinduna li qiegħed tgħaddi nformazzjoni fuq kif in-nies f’dik il-komunita’ ikunu qegħdin jikkategoriżżaw ‘il-gruppi u ‘l-individwi f’dik is-soċjeta’, jgħidu Sczesny, Moser u Wood (2015). L-użu tal-lingwa jiġi studjat mir-riċerkaturi biex jaraw il-livell ta’ ugwaljanza mħaddna mill-individwi li jgħixu f’dik is-soċjeta’. X’lingwi nużaw hija ndikazzjoni tal-livell ta’ aċċettazzjoni ta’ nies differenti fuq livell ta’ ġeneru, identita’ tal-ġeneru, razza, etniċita’, eta’, abilita’ fiżika jew mentali, orjentazzjoni sesswali jew klassi soċjali.
Gender audit of the women and men in decision-making at UM

Title: Gender audit of the women and men in decision-making at UM
Abstract: As far back as 1982, the EU Commission encouraged member states to increase the presence of women in decision-making areas as part of a wider strategy towards the promotion of gender equality. The EU Commission continued reiterating the importance of this through a series of action programmes, roadmaps, pacts and strategy plans, with the most recent strategy underlining this, namely the ‘A Union of Equality: Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025’ (Preti & di Bella, 2023). The current European Gender Equality Strategy specifically calls on EU Member States to develop Gender Equality Plans, or GEPs, that fulfil a number of gender equality-related criteria, with one of the goals being gender balance in decision-making (European Commission, 2020).
Title: Equality, inclusion and diversity
Abstract: Set of innovative teaching materials on gender equality and gender discrimination in a context that allows the perception of this complex problem in a diverse educational environment.

Within this output, educators will discover a collection of pioneering instructional resources addressing gender equality and gender discrimination. These materials offer considerable adaptability, accommodating not only the diverse needs of learners but also leveraging the expertise of the instructor. They can be used effectively in educational contexts that promote a nuanced understanding of the topics identified across a range of academic disciplines, encompassing social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, law, sciences (in CS/STEAM/AI).; The instructional materials include:; Scenarios serving as the primary teaching framework.; Worksheets or questionnaires.; Self-assessment quizzes facilitating learner reflection.; Suggested video resources enhancing comprehension.; Interactive post-class activities designed to reinforce learning outcomes.

Title: Useful tools for diagnosis, monitoring and evaluating in gender and diversity research
Authors: Jarosz, Ewa; Carpinelli, Luna; Klimczak, Jolanta; Christoforou, Andri; Mifsud, Janet; Vassallo, Roderick; Kriston, Edit; Cutajar, JosAnn
Abstract: Methodological rules for research constitute a set called a “methodology”.
Each field or area of science has its specific methodology. Thus, one can speak
of methodologies in the humanities, social sciences, science and technology
or natural sciences. One can also distinguish methodologies of particular
disciplines, e.g. law, psychology, economy, management and sociology.
One can speak of methodology in two senses: theoretical or practical. The
first one means a discussion of the findings of scientific research and, as such,
their philosophical and logical foundations. In contrast, the second one
represents the rules of the research process, logic and principles of research
activities performed by researchers who want to identify a specific part of reality.
This handbook is practical, as it is a set of guidelines on how to carry out
research activities to establish the state of play on gender equality in a given
social reality, i.e. environment, organisation or institution. These indications
can also be used to show progress made as a result of actions taken or to
update needs, as well as in the evaluation process of an equality plan or
programme adopted. [excerpt]
