Title: Recensjonijiet : Britain to-day
Abstract: Din ir-reviżjoni tagħti ħarsa lejn tliet numri (ta' Mejju, Ġunju u Lulju) tar-rivista Britain To-day, ippubblikata mill-British Council permezz ta' University Press, Oxford. Il-kitba tidentifika s-sengħa u l-kwalità tal-Ingliż u ssostni artikoli ewlenin, fosthom l-iżvilupp tal-novella fl-Ingilterra minn Elizabeth Bowen, il-kunċett ta' università ħielsa u mingħajr kontroll minn Sir Charles Grant Robertson, kif ukoll l-Att dwar l-Edukazzjoni tal-1944 minn Dr. W. P. Alexander. Semmiet ukoll l-artikolu fuq l-għaqda "P.E.N." minn Hermon Ould u l-perspettiva ta' Ranjee G. Shahani dwar l-Ingliżi, billi tgħaqqad dawn il-ħsibijiet mar-relazzjonijiet u l-kultura Anglo-Maltija.

Lazarite officers in the American Revolution

Title: Lazarite officers in the American Revolution
Abstract: On the eve of America’s 250th anniversary of independence, it seems appropriate to commemorate members in the Order of St Lazarus who also served in the American Revolutionary War. This study examines a select group of Lazarites who served in the American or French Royal forces during the Guerre d’Amérique (1778-1783) and thus were potentially eligible to become original members in the Society of the Cincinnati. This study further reviews the establishment of the Society of the Cincinnati in 1783 by veteran officers of the Continental Army in America with a special emphasis on the original Society in France (1784- 1792), before it was disbanded during the French Revolution. There are several interesting parallels between the modern Order of St Lazarus and the reconstituted modern Society of the Cincinnati of France.
