Abstract: Despite the growing international literature in the field of efficiency and productivity&#xD;
measurement there are very limited Greek applications partly due to inadequate and&#xD;
incomplete datasets. The aim of this article is to illustrate the main methodologies for health&#xD;
care services efficiency and productivity measurement, to present their strengths and&#xD;
weaknesses and to discuss the existing evidence from applications in other countries.&#xD;
Notwithstanding the fact that the related methodologies have been recently developed these&#xD;
methods may help practitioners and health care decisions makers in improving health care&#xD;
management in Greece.</description>

Abstract: The claims’ collection procedure follows certain stages, which need further&#xD;
analysis. The levels of difficulty are rather significant and therefore an&#xD;
interdisciplinary approach is necessary. The work-flows in this procedure must&#xD;
follow a logical order, both by the policyholder and his representatives, as well as by&#xD;
the insurance company and the P &amp; I clubs.The present Congress (as it is defined by&#xD;
its theme), offers the possibility of a systematic analysis of different fields of&#xD;
knowledge and hence that of Claims, through the presentation and analysis of the&#xD;
workflow in Marine Insurance Claims. Such a Claim appears when a risk prescribed&#xD;
by the policy contract occurs and ends with the payment of the compensation from&#xD;
the insurer.&#xD;
It is a fact that the most important way of dealing with Claims is the&#xD;
prevention of their formation. However it is reasonable that taking into consideration&#xD;
the multi-diversity of maritime companies and their “difficulty coefficient”, the&#xD;
prevention of risks is often rather difficult. Therefore whenever a named peril raises,&#xD;
the procedure of claims’ resolution starts.&#xD;
The first step in the management of claims is the report of the incident by&#xD;
the Captain to the shipping company, to the insurance company and the P &amp; I club&#xD;
provided that the incident concerns the P &amp; I club. Alternatively the incident shall be&#xD;
reported to the insurance company by either the shipping company or by the&#xD;
insurance broker. The assortment of evidence and proofs, which help towards a&#xD;
more efficient management of claims, follows in the next step.&#xD;
In any case, the insurance company must be notified of the claim with a&#xD;
relative note of the policyholder, within a certain deadline starting from the moment&#xD;
the incident occurred or should have come to the knowledge of the ship-owners. If&#xD;
this requirement hasn’t been met a claim can’t be substantiated from the&#xD;
policyholder.</description>

Abstract: Our study is intended to analyze: a) the issue of higher education under funding; b)&#xD;
the “disguised subsidizing” of higher education based on tuition fees; c) the supplementary&#xD;
revenues sources for universities; d) the funding mechanisms of higher education. We aim to&#xD;
incite debate on the relation between the educational policy and the funding strategy of&#xD;
higher education at both national and operational levels, instancing the case of the Babes-&#xD;
Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca.&#xD;
The fundamental guide marks of this analysis are: the average cost per student, the&#xD;
budgetary allowance and the tuition fee. What sources of supplementary revenues for&#xD;
universities are there? What kind of scientific research provides incomes? Which university&#xD;
services generate supplementary resources? How can the university infrastructure be&#xD;
“exploited”? In what measure the cooperation and partnership opportunities with the&#xD;
economic and social environment are being identified? Which are the facilities, the steering&#xD;
directions, the conditions and the benefits of accessing European Structural Funds?&#xD;
With the purpose of answering these questions we have conceived a funding&#xD;
strategy model, entailing: regulations, institutional infrastructure, working instruments,&#xD;
budgetary allowance distribution models, educational costs estimation methods, funding&#xD;
mechanisms, all these operating in a gearing meant to attain, by solving the problems, the&#xD;
objectives of higher education policy.</description>

      <title>The current methods of measurement of market orientation</title>

Abstract: The article deals with the new trends in measurement of market orientation. Market&#xD;
orientation is one of the most investigated methods founded on marketing conception. Market&#xD;
orientation comes back in 90th of 20th century by workers Kohli and Jaworski and Narver&#xD;
and Slater. It is described as a method to contribute better managing of company by many&#xD;
researchers. These research studies involved definition of market orientation, impact market&#xD;
orientation on business performance, methods for measurement of market orientation and&#xD;
implementation the market orientation into managing of companies. After publication the&#xD;
two different methods for measurement of market orientation, some authors had&#xD;
shortcomings to these methods. Many methods have been declared in the previous years, but&#xD;
lot of these methods includes the knowledge by Kohli and Jaworski (MARKOR) and Narver&#xD;
and Slater (MKTOR).&#xD;
There are described twenty-six methods used to measure market orientation. The&#xD;
main advantages and disadvantages of each method are written. Goal of this article is to&#xD;
show the all methods that are described as the methods to measure market orientation and to&#xD;
find the best one. Description, analysis, comparison and synthesis are the methods used to&#xD;
write this article.&#xD;
Shortly, the results from the analysis say that all methods include only a few&#xD;
components of market orientation, the most often mentioned components are orientation on&#xD;
customers, orientation on competition and interfunctional cooperation. The other&#xD;
components of market orientation are usually missed out. Some methods of market&#xD;
orientation include the items connected with business performance, but business&#xD;
performance is not the item of market orientation, it is the component influenced by market&#xD;
orientation. It is defined by only one method fulfilling these shortcomings; the&#xD;
methodological requests are fulfilled at this method too. To measure market orientation is&#xD;
recommended to use this method. The paper is a part of grant project (GA 402/07/1493).</description>
