Title: A new era after the fall of the Berlin wall : challenges for Germany’s foreign policy
Abstract: I am delighted to have the opportunity to meet MEDAC
Alumni in the context of MEDAC Alumni Association annual
meeting, and to make some remarks about Germany’s
foreign policy and its challenges 25 years after the fall of the
Berlin Wall.
In this presentation I will talk about six points, namely:
1. The fall of the Berlin Wall and the window of opportunity
2. The search for a new order
3. Internal debate and external expectations
4. Germany’s new role in the world
5. Three priorities for Germany
6. A Fresh Look at Foreign Policy: Crisis, Order, Europe
