Title: Innovative activities of SMEs in Russia : constraints and growth factors
Authors: Dubrova, T. A.; Ermolina, A. A.; Esenin, M. A.
Abstract: Puprose: The article is aimed at comprehensive study of small enterprises’ innovative activity in Russia and highlights the key constraints factors as well as factors promoting small business innovative activity. Design/Methodology/Approach: We conduct a review of modern domestic and foreign studies on innovative development of SMEs their components and factors to give a comparative description of the innovation activity of SMEs in Russia and the EU countries. We also consider the factors of innovation activity of SMEs in Russia, to identify their regional differences, and to determine the prospects for the innovation activity of small businesses in Russia. The methodological approach is based on the exploration analysis procedures, principal component analysis (PCA), multidimentional classification and logicitic regression. Findings: This analysis revealed that Russian small enterprises are characterized by lower indicators of innovation activity than in many developed countries. The constraints to the growth of the innovation activity of small businesses in Russia are the insufficient level of development of credit financing and the backlog of the production and technological bases. Practical implications: This approach could be used in the development of promotion measures for new innovative process participants, taking into account the regional context. Originality/Value: The main contribution of this study is that the approach can be used in the course of the study to confirm regional differences in the innovative development of small enterprises and allows to identify three clusters with different indicators of the innovative activity of small businesses.

Indicators and methods for assessing the quality of logistic activity processes

Title: Indicators and methods for assessing the quality of logistic activity processes
Authors: Gissin, V. I.; Mehantseva, K. F.; Surzhikov, Mikhail Andreevich
Abstract: Purpose: This article is aimed at identifying and evaluating the quality and safety indicators of processes in the logistics system and solving the problems of product control in the goods’ distribution process. Design/Methodology/Approach: In order to assess the risks and quality of control methods in the goods’ distribution processes, studies were carried out in the process of grain supply, on which the risk assessment was tested using the fault tree using a qualitative approach with a deductive logic, which allowed to identify events at the lower levels of the system. To evaluate the results when comparing various methods of monitoring the characteristics of products in the product distribution process certain statistical tools were used. The evaluation with comparative tests is required in order to determine the way of measuring products in the goods distribution logistics system. The study uses the methods of formalization, analysis, measurement, experimental and comparison. Findings: The considered risk assessment method and the given example allow us to recommend its use for the product distribution processes for various purposes. A technique is proposed for comparing various control methods based on statistical tools that can be recommended for various goods’ distribution operations. Practical implications: The results of the study can be applied in practice to improve the quality of goods’ distribution processes and reduce risks in the various supply chains. Originality/value: The main contribution of this study is to shift the emphasis on the assessment of processes in goods’ distribution to the positions of a risk-based approach and the use of various statistical tools in logistics’ activities.

Impact of contemporary pension reforms on households’ welfare

Title: Impact of contemporary pension reforms on households’ welfare
Authors: Nivorozhkina, L. I.; Abazieva, Kamilla Grigorievna; Dolbina, S. V.
Abstract: Purpose: Identification and assessment of the consequences of raising the retirement age and possible changes in the households’ welfare because a part of the pre-retirement age population will remain in the labor force five years longer. Design/Methodology/Approach: The initial data for the analysis and modeling are the data of a representative survey on the “Russian Longitudinal Monitoring Survey - HSE” project for 2017. The object of the analysis were women aged 55 and older and men of 60 years and older. Microsimulation was carried out, that is all men aged from 60 to 65 and women from 55 to 60 were conditionally transferred to the working population, and changes in their employment and incomes were estimated. Based on the econometric model, an assessment of factors that are incentives to continue working after retirement has been obtained. Results: The presented calculations indicated the fact that despite an increase in the labor supply due to an increase of the retirement age, no employment surplus in the labor market is foreseen. Currently, the poverty level among retired households is significantly lower than the average one, and this trend will continue in the future. Practical implications: The results are important for the adjustment of social policy for retirees. Originality/Value: The study revealed the following new trends: 1) with the growth of the educational level, the probability of employment after the retirement age increases; 2) all other things being equal, women after retirement have a greater chance of being employed than men do; 3) for the majority of retirees employment is not traumatic.

Development of the university image positioning methods in the context of its marketing strategy

Title: Development of the university image positioning methods in the context of its marketing strategy
Authors: Baturina, O. E.; Erokhina, T. B.; Fedko, V. P.; Shaginyan, S. G.
Abstract: Purpose: The note aims to study the steps actions algorithm in the positioning of university image, based on the method of using official media sites and searching systems and social networks.
Design/Methodology/Approach: Today in the digital economy, higher educational establishments should take advantage of the opportunities arising from the involvement of the digital infrastructure in the process of their functioning. The positioning of an existing service or product usually takes the form of repositioning. The basis of the methodic apparatus of this study is the method of using official media sites and searching systems and social networks, which is used in the preparation of the steps algorithm in the university’s image positioning.
Findings: The steps algorithm in the university image positioning is based on the method of using official media sites and searching systems and social networks. This method is developed by the authors and substantiated for the implementation in the sphere of higher educational establishments.
Practical implications: In practice, we are talking about the formation of a mechanism function to provide the basic steps necessary to build an algorithm of the higher educational establishment image positioning.
Originality/value: The concept "positioning" is the most often associated with persons (politicians, "stars") and companies engaged in the production or promotion of goods or services and positioning themselves to create their image, but not about the university positioning.
