This "Malta" handstamp has never been recorded and could well be the first postal handstamp applied in Malta. The "DE Malthe", first known in 1755, was almost certainly struck in France. The handstamp measures 2.4 by 1cm, and is struck in light grey ink. It is not known if it was applied in Malta or in Sicily.
