Abstract: Wind flow and turbulence have been the subjects of investigation for quite a while because they are indispensable in urban air quality modelling. The aim of this work is to evaluate two existing models, one for the wind flow and another for the wind turbulence in a street canyon, using data collected in rue de Strasbourg, Nantes, France. The various techniques employed in the analysis include linear regression, statistical analysis, filtering and time series. The results indicate an under-prediction by the wind field model and an overestimation by the turbulence model. There exists a fair linear correlation between the observed wind field components and the respective estimated values. The turbulence model is observed to be more reliable for small values of wind velocity standard deviations.
