Abstract: | This number of CounterText, the twelfth, marks four years of the journal. Most of the numbers have been special issues, addressing the nature of the post-literary and of countertextual response through a focus on their affinities with, or resistance to, one theme, trope, or trend (hence, for example, the attention to Electronic Literature in No. 2.2; revisited perspectives on ‘The Poetic’ in No. 3.2; the ‘Afterward/Afterword’ dynamic in No. 4.2). But one number in every volume thus far has been a general issue, bringing in new threads of discussion around the post-literary and the countertextual and/or picking up on concerns prefigured in earlier articles, thereby allowing for returns and variations on running themes. This number, itself a general issue, is a further example. |
