Abstract: Dehiscence is a possible complication after surgery, meaning the natural opening of the sutures, and might occur in association with bone exposure. Treatment involves necrotic tissue removal and irrigation with physiological solution or more specific methods, always aiming to provide ideal conditions for tissue regeneration. In this case report, tissue repair was stimulated by traditional dehiscence treatment associated by providing small bleeding areas on a peri-implant site in the lower jaw. After a three-month successful evaluation period, fabrication and installation of the overdenture was completed. This case report shows that there are several ways to treat dehiscence with success, highlighting the importance of patient follow up.
