Abstract: Among the materials found in the sanctuary located in the site of Tas-Silg, situated in the south eastern part of the island of Malta, a good amount is made up of fired pottery mainly used for the cooking of food. The pottery analysis is particularly interesting due to the functional role that the containers held in the cult practices. The small amount, which have dedicatory inscriptions to Astarte made prior to the cooking pot seems to confirm the votive use of these recipients. This article shall only take into consideration the material coming from the south of the sanctuary, where a large amount of votive pottery has been identified.
