Abstract: This article provides an insight into the work of the Sydney Story Factory, a creative writing centre for young people. Based on an interview with the centre’s Storyteller-in-Chief, it shows how the Sydney Story Factory seeks to maximise the attention given to each student’s creative output. In the article it is argued that the innovative approaches employed at this centre can serve as an example of reforms that might need to be introduced in the educational system and teacher education and development.
