Abstract: | Understanding the Cultural Revolutions, We abide In. In many areas of cultural practice and academic research there is a collective sense that many of the issues of the postmodern era are being transcended. Social and cultural theorists tell us we are now in a different global Western moment, referred to as post-postmodern or metamodern. Although there is still a long way to go to get a comprehensive definition of the new era, it is definitely a reactionary offshoot, or a consequence of postmodernism. Without delving into the minutiae of the characteristics, here we will touch upon aspects directly linked first with postmodernism both as a revolutionary movement and an historical condition we all find ourselves in, then with post-postmodernism, to be able to place the advantages and challenges of the practice of spirituality as leading to transcendence, namely in the movement of" 'reaching out' towards the infinite.
