Abstract: This webinar explores how English language teacher educators can empower teachers to collaborate with AI in identifying credible research and extracting actionable insights for classroom practice. The session discusses future-focused competencies—analytical thinking, creative thinking, inquisitiveness, and evidence-based thinking—outlined in Daniel Xerri’s paper Beyond AI Literacy. Nik Peachey applies AI-mediated techniques from his book The Manual of AI-Mediated Autonomous Teacher Development to analyze the British Council’s publication What’s Changed in English Language Teaching, with commentary from its authors Gary Motteram and Susan Dawson. Together, the panel offers practical strategies for integrating AI into teacher professional development and educational research.
