Issue Date: | 2016 |
Abstract: | The debate about whether the Presidency is just a financial burden or a good means of influencing the EU legislative activity and decision outcomes is never ending. In light of the diverging views on this aspect, this research aims to explore this issue. Using a qualitative analysis approach with a mix of interviews and participant observation, the findings indicate that the Presidency has in actual terms this power through various sources. The study also provides recommendations on how the EU decision-making process could be improved. |
