The University of Malta Library Open Science Department presents the fifth issue of the OAR@UoM Update : September 2017. This issue showcases the connection between OAR@UoM and Google Scholar Profile, and how these tools can easily and free-of-charge enhance the UM's researchers' visibility and impact in the academic community worldwide. Furthermore, the three most currently active OAR@UoM Communities are identified. For the time being, the Department of Biology is taking the lead, mainly thanks to Prof. Patrick J. Schembri and Prof. Joseph A. Borg who have nearly 300 research papers when added together available in OAR@UoM. Second place belongs to the School of Performing Arts with the support of Prof. Frank Camilleri, Dr Philip Ciantar and Ms Elaine Grech. Third position goes to the Institute for Tourism, Travel and Culture thanks to Prof. Andrew Jones, Prof. George Cassar, Dr John Ebejer and Dr Marie Avellino. Additionally, new OAR@UoM contributors are presented. Apparently, the UM's researchers were actively committed to upload their research papers during the month of August as during this month we noted the highest amount of new contributors so far this year!en_GB
