| Abstract: | The Maltese government has announced that it will be applying for membership of the European Community (EC) during 1990. In all probability the application will take place during Italy’s six month turn at the rotating presidency of the EC Council of Ministers. For its part, the Opposition Labour Party has put the whole question under review and decided that it wants an agreement of unlimited duration with the Community. This decision was taken at the end of a General Conference held on March 22nd, 1990. |
