Abstract: As evidenced by documents such as 'Standard for Technological Literacy' and 'Design and Technology: The National Curriculum for England', there are numerous occasions when the teaching of Design and Technology can be linked to the teaching, knowledge and understanding of other subjects, including Science, Mathematics, English, Geography and History. The aim of this dissertation is to identify a number of common areas in the syllabi and curricula of Design and Technology and other areas where such links are possible. Thus, by observation and interviews with teachers of Design and Technology, the possibility of these links was explored in the local context.
