Abstract: Germana Ernst was regarded as the foremost scholar on Tommaso Campanella. Throughout her life she published many critical editions and translations of his works, together with a myriad of studies devoted to his life, thought and writings. A member of the journal’s editorial committee, her former student and friend, gives a short account of her lifelong scholarly activity.
