Corporate social responsibility in the banking sector with particular reference to the local banks in Malta

Abstract

Because society and the environment have become greatly important subsets for companies and institutions, CSR has assumed great importance for them. It is growing very rapidly, and this study considers its present status in the banking sector. More specifically, the banking sector in Malta looks at CSR as being part of its core business and not, as it is often the case in other places, some sort of glorified charitable model.
